The week between Christmas and New Year's Day is very depressing for many people.

It is the case for those in our house.

Ice Skating broke the mood briefly on Friday night.

Energy resumed and we dismantled and stored all of the Christmas lights and decorations.

In a house suddenly devoid of an array of festive, artificial light, a golden light reflected along a darkened wall and caught my eye.

I ran to look out the window and this is what I saw. A reminder of all that I come from and in whose plan my life is contained.

The first sunset of the new year.
I have come into the world as a light,
so that no one who believes in me
should stay in darkness.

The tree is down and the outside lights are down too. Now to finish all the inside and Christmas will be put away for another year.
